Namsangol Hanok Village, located in the heart of Seoul near Namsan Mountain, is a cultural haven that showcases five meticulously restored hanok—traditional Korean houses from the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910). Historical Significance
The site of Namsangol Hanok Village was historically known as Jeonghakdong, a renowned summer resort during the Joseon era, celebrated for its picturesque landscapes. The term "Jeonghakdong" translates to "the land of the fairies for the blue crane," highlighting its serene beauty. In 1998, to preserve and showcase traditional Korean architecture, five hanok were relocated from various parts of Seoul to this location, each representing different social classes, from high-ranking officials to commoners.
